Checking HIS List

Jake took this year's visit to Santa very seriously. He was a man with a mission. There is a Star Wars toy that Jake has been wanting "forever!" If anyone could make that happen, it was going to be Santa Claus.

Apparently Jake knows the value of advertising and wanted to make sure there was no confusion with Santa on exactly which Star Wars toy it was. So he brought the picture with him to show Santa.

After patiently standing in line, hopping from one foot to another, unfolding and folding his paper over and over, it was finally time! This was one serious conversation!  Good Luck Santa!

Jake isn't taking any chances this month.  He has been keeping busy, helping around the house, cleaning his room & even came home after school yesterday and made Santa a glitter glue card that said "I LOVE YOU SANTA CLAUS!"

Visiting with Santa

We got to visit with Santa Claus a few weeks ago at the church Christmas party.  I think it is safe to say, Luke wasn't a big fan of the jolly ole' man in red.  Trevor took him up (since he was "too old to go himself").  Then I had everyone jump in for a quick group shot before Luke escaped, screaming for his life.

Jake on the other hand, was shaking with excitment over the prospect of speaking with Santa.

Hayley was sweet but not quite as decisive as Jake in telling Santa her Christmas wishes.

Santa took it all in stride, continuing to ask Trevor questions above Luke's screaming.  My favorite...
Santa: "Have you been eating your vegetables?"  Trevor (starting to laugh) "No way!"

But Santa, or Luke calls him now "Ho Ho", was quickly redeemed as Luke grabbed the candy cane on his way out & quickly stopped screaming.   In fact, he ran back up to Santa's helper with the candy canes after he ate this one, and she put another in his sticky outstreched hand.  He didn't even notice the big man in red seating next to her.  Maybe we will start with the candy cane next year :)

Now Hiring Dishwashers

Last week I was washing dishes and stepped away for a minute. When I came back a minute later, I found this...

My shadow has a new favorite hobby! Now every day Luke pulls the chair to the sink & tries to wash the dishes. He is a little obsessive about it, and gets mad if I don't turn on the water for him.  I think he needs his own scrub brush for Christmas!
