2014-2015 School Theme - Be Strong and of a Good Courage

Our 2014-2015 School Theme is from Joshua 1:9

We had this same theme back in 2010 when Michael began high school.  This year we have a couple other firsts - Luke in Kindergarten, Hayley in middle school by herself, Trevor starting high school and Michael beginning his mission.  We talked about not being afraid when we are in new situations, like school - that we are never alone.

We watched a music video about being strong and of a good courage.

We talked about the scripture and what it means to be strong and to have good courage. Everyone wrote or drew a picture of someone/something that that was strong and showed courage.  Pictures of Daniel and the Lions Den, Esther, Nephi, Samuel the Lamanite and Michael the Missionary were some of the things drawn.

We finished off by eating some awesome donut weight treats.

New Shoes

Michael was our official Nike namebrand boy, always had to have Nike shoes for school and basketball.  For the last couple of years, everytime Luke noticed Nikes, he would call them "Mikees" instead.  So in honor of our Mikee in Argentina, we took a picture of the boys and their new shoes  (Hayley also has a pair, but wore a different pair of shoes the first day of school).

Ice Cream!

After school we headed to Baskin Robbins for our annual 1st Day of School Ice Cream treat.  Poor Trevor missed out since his bus was running really late.
