Today we were able to have Luke's baby blessing at church. It was wonderful to have so many family members there to celebrate this special day for our sweet little boy.

More Luke Pic's
My friend Kristen took a few more pictures of Luke for us this week.
They are so great, I had to share. Thanks Kristen!

Busy Times
It's always fun when Grandpa comes...and Grandma, and Uncles and Aunts and COUSINS!
This week-end Luke got to meet his Grandpa Bowman.
Fresh Cut!
Now that summertime is here & the temps are in the mid-high 90's, it was time for a little change in hairstyles. I cut Trevor & Jake's hair short, no problems.
Smokin' Science Experiments
Hoopin' It Up
Twilight Camp
Trevor went to Twilight Camp this past week. This is a camp for Cub Scouts (not vampires in training! Although they did get eaten alive by blood sucking mosquitoes!) that is held each summer during the twilight hours.
Trev had a blast, shooting BB guns, archery and building a ton of things out of wood.

Ode to Donuts
In honor of National Donut Day, we ate donuts for breakfast (any excuse for donuts right?!). They were scrumptious.
As with all important holidays, we had an invigorating conversation at the table about the holiday we were celebrating. We took a very important poll about who makes the best donuts.
Hands down, Krispy Kreme was voted best donut by 4 voters, with Dunkin Donuts receiving 1 vote and Shipley's Donuts receiving 1 vote, with Luke not voting yet (although I am sure he would have raised his donut to Krispy Kreme as well!) .
What do you think?
Bowling
Hayley, Trevor and Jake went bowling with friends afterschool on the last day of school. It was a fun way to celebrate the end of a great school year.

Going for the Gold!
Hayley wrapped up her first year of Gymnastics and got her first gold medal. The gymnastics coach came to the school Friday afternoons, so Hayley was able to be in a class afterschool with several of her close friends. It was great and she can't wait until fall!
Hayley's Class Parties
Since Hayley's birthday is in the summer, she got to celebrate her with her class the last week of school. She brought some popsicles to share with the class for a perfect treat the day before school got out.
On the last day of school Hayley's class had a party and gave her teacher a quilt one of the room mom's had the kids make for the teacher. It was a perfect gift!
Award Ceremonies
The end of school means parties and award ceremonies, with maybe a little learning thrown in sometime during the last week or two of school.
Hayley's 1st grade class performed a couple of songs as well as a fun poem named "Homework, Oh Homework!". She received lots of awards including the citizen of the year award for her class. Hayley's favorite thing about 1st grade was going on field trips. She loved her teacher Ms. Russell and became a professional hula hooper at recess this year!

Trevor's 3rd grade class sang a fun rendition of "I've been working in the 3rd grade" (sang along to the tune of "I've been working on the railroad"). He also received lots of awards including being recognized having read & taken the most AR reading tests in the class, having almost 400 points! Trevor's favorite thing about 3rd grade was hanging out with his friends and playing intense games of four square at recess.
Michael casually mentioned on the way out the door on the last day of school that he had gotten "some trophy" for band. Upon further questioning, it turns out it was the only one awarded for Brass Ensemble for being the best. He rocks at the French Horn & we love to hear him play. He is also very modest and declined the opportunity for a photo op this time, but we got one of the trophy for posterity :)
