The end of school means parties and award ceremonies, with maybe a little learning thrown in sometime during the last week or two of school.
Hayley's 1st grade class performed a couple of songs as well as a fun poem named "Homework, Oh Homework!". She received lots of awards including the citizen of the year award for her class. Hayley's favorite thing about 1st grade was going on field trips. She loved her teacher Ms. Russell and became a professional hula hooper at recess this year!

Trevor's 3rd grade class sang a fun rendition of "I've been working in the 3rd grade" (sang along to the tune of "I've been working on the railroad"). He also received lots of awards including being recognized having read & taken the most AR reading tests in the class, having almost 400 points! Trevor's favorite thing about 3rd grade was hanging out with his friends and playing intense games of four square at recess.
Michael casually mentioned on the way out the door on the last day of school that he had gotten "some trophy" for band. Upon further questioning, it turns out it was the only one awarded for Brass Ensemble for being the best. He rocks at the French Horn & we love to hear him play. He is also very modest and declined the opportunity for a photo op this time, but we got one of the trophy for posterity :)
