Blue Bell Ice Cream

Over Spring Break we visited the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory with my family who were in town visiting. It has been a few years since we've been out there & I had never been there during Spring Break. Holy Cow - it was crazy!

The tour line was 2 hours long but Blue Bell really does things great. They had Bouncy Blue Bell Moonwalks for the kids to play on during the wait, complimetary bottled waters, & free ice cream sandwiches among other things.

The weather was perfect & time went by pretty fast, especially visiting with cousins, my brother Bob & his wife Cynthia and my parents.

The tour was great. Trevor declared afterwards that he & Alex were going to work there when they grew up, because as the tour guide said, "Here at Blue Bell, we eat all we can and then we sell the rest!" What could be better than that, right?!


And as special guests, we all got another scoop of ice cream at the end...I won't tell you how much ice cream we actually ate that day. But lets just say it was worth the wait!

Twilight Camp

A couple of weeks ago, Trevor had a week-long Cub Scout camp in the evenings called Twilight Camp. He had a blast, learning to shoot bb guns, doing archery, woodwork, art, science and much more.



The last night of the camp is Family Night which the other kids really like. Don was with Michael at the Astros game but I went to camp with Trevor, Hayley & Jake. What an adventure we had...

AFTER PLAYING ULTIMATE FRISBEE, WE STOPPED AT THE WOODMAKING TENT AND MADE PLANTER BOXES...OR BARBIE BEDS, DEPENDING ON WHO YOU ASKED!








NEXT STOP, WATER BOTTLE ROCKETS, WHICH WERE, AS JAKE SCREAMED, "TOTALLY AWESOME!!"


WE ENDED THE NIGHT GETTING A COOL SCOOP OF ICE CREAM (I know, you are thinking, what a nice mom. But really, it was just a premediated bribe on my part to get the kids out of camp an hour early...it was so hot out there!). AWWW, GOOD TIMES!

Spring Program

Trevor and Hayley performed in their school's Spring Program on Thursday. The program was about a kite that a group of kids in Japan had that flew away to different lands, so the kids did skits, dances and songs in the different languages that are taught at the school. Trevor performed with the boys in his Chinese class and did an awesome King Fu style dance. I wish I had it on video, it was so awesome.




The grand finale was the kindergartners all singing, "If You're Happy and you know it, Fly a Kite" in 5 languages (English, French, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese). Hayley was really cute.



Afterwards we went out and celebrated with a scoop of ice cream - yum!
