January 2012 Recap

Lots has happened the last few months and blogging came to a screeching halt.  So with our calendar and pictures in hand, here is my attempt to do a quick recap of our life.

January was filled with busy, fun week-ends.  First was Michael's Ovarian Cancer Fun Run, which ended up raising almost $1200 for Ovarian Cancer Research, earning him a spotlight on the OCRF quarterly newsletter as  OCRF Fundraising Allstar.  Michael continues to lend his support to this great cause & is joining his mom & running in his first 5K, MD Anderson's Sprint for Life as part of the Sweet Like Candy team.

The next week-end was spent at the theatre, watching Trevor in his acting debut in Willy Wonka.  He has followed up with performances, including an impromptu auctioneer gig at the YW Spaghetti Fundraiser in March and a part in an intense Edgar Allen Poe short play last week.  He continues to entertain us all on a daily basis :-)

Hayley owned the last week in January in our house.  She was a busy girl with projects due,  a 4th grade Expo presentation and that week-end, a UIL competition where she continued to shine, competing in 3 events and advancing to finals &  medaling.  In February and March she continued her tournament play and has earned several medals in Impromptu Speaking and a 2nd place trophy in Oral Reading, as well as being thrown into new events as a last minute substitution.

Hayley's 4th Grade Expo project consisted researching endangered Texas Prairies, writing a detailed report and making her own creative blog called "Little Blog on the Texas Prairie".  Here is the link if you want to check it out - http://texasprairies.blogspot.com/

Jake and Luke loved tagging along for all the fun in January, filling in any spare minutes with adventures of their own.  We loved having family coming to visit, playing games, getting into mischief (Luke must be 2!!), and just living the good life.  Here are a few pictures from our January Adventures.
