Easter Thoughts on Christ

Happy Easter!

Jesus Christ is central our family's beliefs and we are grateful to be able to remember and celebrate what is truly important during this Easter season.

A short, great video about our Savior can be viewed here.

"One of the great consolations of this Easter season is that because Jesus walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone, we do not have to do so." - Jeffrey R. Holland

Smiles

Easter Fun

We had an "egg-citing" day getting ready for Easter this week-end.

First, there was the DYING of the Eggs

Then, the decorating of the sugar cookies...

And of course, lots of telling of our favorite Easter Yolks,
"Egg-cellent Riddles to CRACK you up!"
Here are some of our favorites...

What should you do if your Easter egg is fat? DYE IT!

Why should you never tell an Easter egg a joke? Because you don't want it to crack up!

How did the little Easter Bunny feel when he feel down? Un-hoppy.

How does the Easter Bunny keep his fur so neat? With a hare-brush!

A Puzzling Evening

Friday night we had fun putting together puzzles.

THE 3 FINISHED PUZZLES

There is something magnetic that draws people to the puzzle table once you get going. Even the most "mature" of the family couldn't resist walking by and trying to put some pieces in! It was a fun way to wind down a busy day of playing and swimming.

Fun in the Sun

Jake had fun at the Easter Egg Hunt Playgroup this week

My favorite was watching him pick up the egg, shake it, then put it back if it didn't make noise. Jelly Beans are his favorite and he was making sure he got his quota!

On Friday, we went swimming at our friend's house while the kids were out of school. The weather was perfect and everyone had fun splashing in the pool - thanks Candy!

Happy April Fool's Day!

BREAKFAST

The ole' changing milk prank in the cereal.
Instructions: Put food coloring in the bottom of the bowl without the kids noticing. Pour desired cereal. Put bowl in front of child. Pour white milk and watch the funny reactions as the milk changed colors.

LUNCH

The Great Chocolate Swap Prank.
Instructions: Get Hershey Kisses for kids lunches. Remove wrappers of Hershey Kisses. Input Grapes into foil wrappers and rewrap, including little white kiss tag paper to make look real. Put into lunch box.

Important - Eat Hershey Kisses yourself, you don't want to leave any evidence behind!

DINNER

The Drink Swap.
Instructions: Replace water in glasses with clear fruity Kool-Aid when no one is paying attention. Don came to dinner a few minutes after we started and Jake kept telling him to drink his water and giggling, making everyone laugh & making Don wonder what exactly we did to his drink...

AND....

THE ULTIMATE PRANK WHEN YOU ARE ALMOST 38 WEEKS PREGNANT

The Water Breaking Moment.
Instructions: Fill 2 water balloons prior to dinner. Hide in safe spot...I think you know where :)

Call everyone to dinner and make sure everyone has started eating. Sit down carefully & start normal dinner conversation. Start to stand up while secretly popping water balloon, allowing water to whoosh and run down your legs, chair and floor. Sit back down with weird expression on face while everyone figures out what is happening as chaos starts to occur. One child getting a towel, a lesson on what happens next when you are having a baby and when I should call the doctor...and of course, watching your spouse's face through it all...
and finally saying April Fools! Priceless.

Good Times!
