Field Day

Friday was Field Day at Trevor and Hayley's school. It was a lot of fun. I am not sure how I became the water balloon room mom, but every year my kids volunteer me to fill up the water balloons for their classes for the balloon toss activity. I really think their favorite part of field day is helping (ok, mainly watching) me make dozens and dozens of water balloons and laughing hysterically when the balloon goes crazy and sprays me in the face and flies all over the kitchen. Occasionally I do have to accidently let an untied balloon spray them too...it's only fair, right?!

Hayley was so excited for her "first field day ever", she could hardly sleep the night before. She had been to field day the last couple of years and even got to do some activities with Trevor's class in the past, but this was her own class now and she was giddy with excitment.

Hayley in the Sack Race

Hayley's favorite part was the water games. They did water balloon tosses and then the teacher sprayed them all off with a hose to cool down since it was in the 90's. Hayley was soaked by the end, but LOVED it! The teacher sprayed Jake too, who promptly burst into tears. It was pretty funny, since usually it is Jake doing the spraying at me at our house. Normally Jake would have loved something like that. But all was made better when we caught up to Trevor's class at the Slushy stop. Jake snagged himself a Blue Raspberry Slushy and was as happy and crazy as ever after that.

TREVOR RUNNING WITH DURING THE SPOON RELAY. In the past, they used real eggs in the relay, but this year they went with tennis balls. Not as much mess I guess, but those balls really do bounce and roll when they fall off your spoon!
